Interested in the human/animal bond and animal behavior, she has co-authored with her husband, Mark Katz, a professional dog trainer, newsletters and books on dog training and behavior. They have a daughter, Sara.

In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, showing her champion Chihuahuas, and various other dog-related activities. She is “owned” by her family of Chihuahuas, corgis, 2 umbrella cockatoos, 2 horses, a cat, and a ball python. She is a member of the AVMA, GBVMA, CCA, CCU, PWCCP, and CTDC.
