Chadwell Animal Hospital opened its doors in September 2003. It was a collaborative effort by Dr. Keith Gold and Ruby Schaupp (a husband and wife team). Both had worked at various animal hospitals in Baltimore County. This would be the first time they would join forces, each bringing their experiences, ideas and skills to create a veterinary hospital with a professional environment that would be efficient, always educational, compassionate and fun! The Chadwell name was derived from their first dog, who in turn, was named after a town on the island of St. Kitts. “Chadwell” was adopted from this island as a puppy. It was in his memory, that of a resilient, loyal and brave companion that the practice was named.
The hospital is a 5500 square foot facility with 4 exam rooms, 2 surgical suites and a surgical prep room. There are separate dog, cat, and exotic wards, and an isolation room with it's own ventilation. The intensive care unit is located just off the treatment area where those patients are monitored continuously throughout the day. There is a special procedures room for radiographs, endoscopy, and ultrasound.
You are more than welcome to come on in for a tour!
